In any given year, well over half of Bourke Builders work involves additions to and remodeling of existing homes. We are home improvement experts and approach the process, from beginning to end, with a degree of care and thoughtfulness, which always leaves our clients feeling that they received much more than what they paid for.

We are attentive to all the details. We see the “house as a system”, understanding that home improvements can have many effects on the rest of your house. And, most important, we understand how to take care of your living environment while we are working in your home. We install dust barriers and noise control, keep work areas neat and tidy, and do all we can to make the process as pleasing and comfortable for your family as possible. That is how we meet the home improvement challenge.

The Process

1. We start by sitting down with you listening to your ideas, needs and wishes while also, from the very beginning, making sure to address your budget in a clear and straightforward style.

2. Then we assess the scope and viability of your project within your budget.

3. The next exciting step is layout and design. Bourke Builders offers complete, creative in-house design build construction services using a state-of-the-art CAD (Computer Aided Design) program. Those who work on your design also specify, estimate and coordinate the work on your addition or remodeling project. Our design-build process is an integrated, seamless, cost-effective way for you to realize your home improvement dreams. We are also happy to work with your architect or designer.

4. After we finish the design, specifications and an acceptable estimate, we produce a Construction Agreement with payment schedule, and get to work.

Bourke Builders has been incorporating green building techniques into our additions and remodeling projects for many years. Often our additions add very little energy load to the existing house, and our clients find they end up spending more time in their new, more comfortable space enjoying abundant sunshine, excellent lighting and the use of low toxicity materials.
